  2. Demise of the Founder President, Nawabzada Muzafar Husain:

With profound regret and deep sorrow the German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan announces the untimely demise of the Founder President, Nawabzada Muzafar Husain, peacefully in his sleep at Karachi on October 24 2006. He was 83.

He was renowned the world over for his contribution to the German Shepherd Dog world, the WUSV and the SV. He was an active member of the SV for 48 years.

The privilege of owning some of the best dogs in the world was his, including the World Champions, 1959 Assja Geigerklause, 1962 Mutz Kueckstrasse and 1964 Zibu Haus Schuetting.

He will be fondly remembered for his generosity, his warmth and for his immense knowledge. His service for the government and people of Pakistan, to industry and the world of Cricket is already legendary.

  3. The SV has issued the following policy statement:

Statement of the Breed Registry of the German Shepherd Dog Association (SV)After the Breed Registry was informed that the dog “Nero vom Nöbachtal, SZ-Nr. 2080775” had covered bitches abroad, the SV managing committee decided to give the following advice to the relevant associations abroad, and moreover to the bitch owners in Germany, warning them of the offspring of “Nero vom Nöbachtal” which were born after the 9th August 2004 (date on which the offspring registration ban legally came into effect). The associations abroad were told that since we have now discovered that the dog Nero vom Nöbachtal is to be used in their country as a stud dog, we would like to point out that an offspring registration ban has been imposed by the SV on this dog since 09th August 2004. Therefore offspring from this dog, even if they are registered in their country in the breed register, will not be included in our breed register.

This means that should an application be made for offspring from this dog to be registered in the SV Breed Register, it will be rejected by us with reference to the relevant regulations. This means, de facto, that these dogs will also be banned from registering in the German Breed Register (breeding prohibited). In order to be able to register dogs in Germany in the Breed Register, it is necessary, in accordance with Paragraph 4.1.1 of the Breeding Regulations, that the parent animals are themselves included in the SV Breed Register.

The exhibition of these dogs is also not possible, since the SV does not judge the confirmation itself, but instead gives a breed assessment, and in accordance with the conformation show rules, dogs which have an offspring registration ban imposed on them are not permitted to take part in conformation shows of the SV. This applies to all dogs that are fathered by Nero vom Nöbachtal after the offspring registration ban came into force.

We would be grateful, if the foreign associations were also to decide to impose an offspring registration ban, since this would certainly be opportune in protecting bitch owners. The Breed Registry of the SV

In accordance with the request of the SV, the GSDCP has decided to impose a similar ban with immediate effect. Hence no offspring of the dog Nero vom Nobachtal born after August 9th 2004 will be registered by the GSDCP/KCP.

  4. Effective 01.01.2006 the KCP has imposed a fee of Rs.100/- per pedigree issued by the GSDCP. For the current year 2006, the GSDCP has decided to absorb this charge and the fee of Rs.500/- per pedigree will remain unchanged.

  5. Dogs imported from overseas are required to be registered with the KCP within six months from the date of their import into Pakistan and acquire a KCP registration number. All owners/exhibitors are hereby advised that in case this requirement is not fulfilled, the dogs will not be eligible to be exhibited at shows licensed under KCP rules and regulations.

    1. It is to be noted that dogs registered with the AKC, Kennel Club England, SV, AKU and other recognized member clubs may compete in shows licensed by the KCP with the parent club registration numbers for a period of six months on the reciprocal basis agreed upon between the organizations.

    2. For GSDs the application may be made directly to the GSDCP for registration and transfer accompanied by the standard registration fee as may be amended from time to time
